  2. Registration and Teams
    1. Online Signups
      • Registration must be completed in advance to the tournament before Tuesday 18th March 2008 @ 13:00. This can be done at http://lan.multiplay.co.uk or by using the Register link on the i33 WiC tournament information page.
      • Four players must be registered under the same team to confirm one of the 32 tournament spots. Any number of players beyond four may be registered for any one team.
      • Tournament registration is limited to 32 teams. Signing up as a participant to i33 does not guarantee a place in the tournament.
    2. On-site Signups
      • Players are required to sign in to the event as a participant in order to take part in the tournament. On-site Tournament Registration will run while places are available, on Friday 21st March for a limited time only. As stated above, Tournament registration is limited to 32 teams and four players must be registered under the same team to confirm one of the 32 tournament spots. Players who do not signup either online or on-site by this time will not be allowed to compete.
    3. Teams and Participants
      • When all the players for your team have signed up, they will be the only players you may field in your player line up for each match. A player can only play for one team, although a team can enter up to 6 players in a single team. A clan may enter more than one team but players cannot be transferred between teams. Players can not be transferred across parts of the tournament.
      • By registering and participating in the i33 tournaments, all participants agree to abide by the rules of the tournament.
  3. Tournament Format
    1. Overview
      • The tournament will have 1 stage of group play on Saturday leading to Knockout stages on Sunday. Groups will play down to 8 teams and then double elimination for the knockout.
    2. Game Mode
      • The matches will be played using the ‘domination’ game mode.
    3. Faction Rules
      • Each team will play one round as each faction per match. The roles are fixed and all 4 roles (Infantry/Armour/Air/Support) must be used. Players are not allowed to swap roles once the round has begun.
    4. Time Limit
      • Each round will have a maximum time of 20 minutes, you should allow at least the maximum (40 minutes) per game.
    5. Match Length/Speed
      • Games will be played at Normal speed (x1)
    6. Scoring
      • Scoring will be calculated based on percentages held in each round, total domination being 100%. An example of this is below:
      • Round 1: Team1 wins 60% NATO, Team 2 loses 40% Soviet
      • Round 2: Team1 loses 15% Soviet, Team 2 wins 85% NATO
      • Based on the above example team 2 would win (75-125)
      • A score of 100-100 will be counted as a draw in the group stages regardless of in-game score. Points for group games will be as follows:
        • Win: 3 points
        • Draw: 1 point
        • Loss: 0 points
      • In the event of a draw (100-100) in the knockout stages the winner will be decided based on in-game score for each team.
    7. Map Lists
      • A pool of maps are available for the group stages and will be chosen at random for each game by the admin
      • If both teams agree on a certain map they would like to play in the group stage against each other, they should notify the admin via IRC/in person a minimum of 10 minutes before the match is due to start and the request will be granted.
      • All points on the map are available for capture

  5. Match Rules - General
    1. IRC
      • Please ensure that at a minimum team/clan leaders are in the #wic channel on the event IRC server. Please see the tournament admin ASAP if you are having trouble with IRC as tournament information and server passwords will be provided this way.
    2. Match Starts
      • A match may not begin before the admin is ready. A team must have all the members it intends to field in the server 5 minutes before the scheduled start time of the match. If a match is still in progress on your allocated server, await authorisation from an admin before joining the server. If any team fails to provide at least 4 players, 5 minutes after the scheduled match start, the match will be forfeit and the opposing team will be awarded the win.The only acceptable excuses for missing the scheduled start of a match are:
        • Network failure
        • Server failure
        • Power failure
        • Previous match overrunning

Please note these rules are in place to allow the smooth running of the tournament and match times will be strictly enforced.

    3. Server Crashes
      • In the event of a server crash, the current round being played will be restarted.
    4. Voice Communication
      • Use of any in-game or external (ie. Teamspeak, Ventrillo) voice communications are permitted.
    5. Demos and Screenshots
      • It is heavily recommended that each team record a demo of each match using the relevant utilities in case of any dispute.
      • Each clan/team leader is required to take a screenshot of the final scoreboard upon a round finishing in case of any dispute.
  6. Game-play Rules
    1. Cheating
      • All forms of cheating are strictly prohibited - any player found to be cheating will forfeit the current match for their team and be removed from all tournaments for the duration of the event, in accordance with the MPUK Cheating policy.
    2. In-game Techniques
      • There are no restrictions on any particular tactics a side may wish to use to win the match, however any map/unit exploits/hacks will not be tolerated. If in doubt about the status of a particular tactic please query this with the admin.
