- Online Qualifiers: Monday 18th February - Thursday 11th March
- i33 LAN Finals and Last Chance: Friday 21st March - Saturday 22nd March
- Maximum Competitors: 24 Teams Online, 24 Teams LAN
- Tournament Staff
- The iPower Games are led by a number of the Multiplay Tournament Management Staff
- You can find the admins on Quakenet IRC in #ipoweruk.
- Registration
- Online Signups
- For the Online Qualifiers, registration must be completed in advance to the tournament before Monday 11th February 2008 @ 23:59. For the LAN Last Chance qualifiers, registration deadline for Online signups is Tuesday 18th March 2008 @ 13:00.
- On-site Signups
- Teams are required to sign in to the event as a BYOC Participant or TUP Participant in order to take part in the Last Chance tournament. On-site Tournament Registration will run while places are available, on Friday 21st March until 10am only. Teams who do not signup either online or on-site by this time will not be allowed to compete.
- Participants
- Participants MUST be UK Citizens. Proof of this (UK Passport) is required for anyone wishing to take part.
- By registering and participating in the iPower tournaments, all participants agree to abide by the rules of the tournament.
- Tournament Format
- Matches
- Each match that is scheduled will take place across both games in that section of the tournament. If one team wins at both games, they will win the fixture. If the games are one-apiece then a ratio of scores over both games will be taken to determine the winner of the fixture. If one game is tied but the other is won, the victor of that game will be the winner of the fixture.
- Ranking and Promotion
- Teams receive 3 ranking points for a victory, 1 ranking point for a draw and 0 ranking points for a loss in the group stages. At the end of the group stages, the top 2 teams in the group will continue into the elimination stages of the prize-winning tournament.
- Teams are ranked by their ranking points. If two teams have an equal amount of points, the outcome of the match between the tied teams determines the rank.
- Tournament Rules
- IRC Channels
- The tournament largely relies on IRC to convey tournament updates so please ensure you have a copy installed. A client may be downloaded here.
- #ipoweruk on Quakenet for Online Qualifiers and #ipoweruk on Internal IRC for the LAN tournament are where you will find admins and match information. Admins will be opped. Please ask questions in the channel rather than sending PMs, that way any admin can answer your query.
- Match Starts
- The match may not begin before the admin is ready. Players must be in the server 5 minutes before the scheduled start time of the match. If a match is still in progress on your allocated server, await authorisation from an admin before joining the server. If any player fails to show up 10 minutes after the scheduled match start, the match will be forfeit and the opposing player will be awarded the win. The only acceptable excuses for missing the scheduled start of a match are:
- Network failure
- Server failure
- Power failure
- Previous match overrunning
- Demos & Screenshots
- All players must record demos from the whole match. Teams may request the demos from the game.
- Demos must be kept until the result has been accepted on the tournament system. If either team decides to request demos they must explain their reasons for doing so.
- If a player fails to provide all the requested demos, or if some of the requested demos are broken or missing 2 or more minutes of match time, the other clan may request that the match be cancelled. Players repeatedly failing to provide demos will be removed.
- In case a player wants demos from the opponent the player should immediately state the exact demos they want.
- After the requested demos are sent, the complaining player has 30 minutes to specify specific points in the demo to check. If they fail to do so it will be assumed they have no complaints about the demos anymore.
- Game-play Rules
- Cheating
- It is not allowed to take advantage of or abuse bugs. Any kind of bug abuse is considered cheating and will lead to a forfeit loss, unless otherwise mentioned specifically in the game-related rules.
- All programs or files, either changed game files or new files, that change the game or add to its functionality, or which interact with the game in any way, are strictly forbidden. Modified versions of the game’s resource files are always forbidden, regardless of what they do. The use of any forbidden program or file by any player member during a match, leads to a forfeit loss, and could lead to a removal and ban from the iPower Games in major cases.
- Programs that do not interact with the game in any way are allowed, even if they can be used and operated simultaneously with the game. Voice communication and Instant Messenger programs are examples of such programs.
- The use of illegal binds or hardware macros that simulate timed button presses is prohibited.
