The event takes place at Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire and there are a number of different ways you can get to it.
By Car
If you are travelling by road then you are looking to be on the A34 or M4. They both intersect just north of Newbury and Newbury is clearly sign posted from there. Once you enter Newbury, follow signs for “Newbury Racecourse and Conference Centre” which is just off the A4. You can find more detailed directions by entering the postcode for the Racecourse into your favourite map/directions website (e.g. Google maps) - the postcode is RG14 7NZ.
By Train
It’s nice and easy to get to the event via the train. You have two options - you can either get off at the Newbury Racecourse train station (opposite the venue) or the Newbury train station (in the centre of town). Not all trains stop at the racecourse so make sure you check the timetables before you travel. If you do go to the Newbury train station it is only a 2 minute taxi ride from the event - just ask for the Grandstand at Newbury Racecourse. Unless you’re only spectating we recommend getting a taxi from Newbury station as although the Newbury Racecourse station is opposite the venue it is a little too far to carry all your gear.
By Coach
You can also check out the coach services that run to Newbury. Jump onto the National Express website and check out the available options.
By Air
If you are planning on taking the plane for part of your journey then it’s probably easiest to get to Newbury from Gatwick or Heathrow Airport and then a train from here.
Courier your PC
Now that you have sorted out your mode of transport, how are you going to get your PC to the event? One option is to courier your PC to the venue. So long as you package it up well and check all the connections at the other end it should be fine.
Note: How you arrange this is YOUR responsibility, Multiplay are not responsible for arranging collection of your items. Event staff will be available to sign for it from Wedsnesday 19th March and will make sure they are available to the couriers the day after the event, but its YOUR responsibility to make sure the couriers are there.
Please mark ALL sent items with the venue address and your name, as follows:
(insert your name here)
c/o Multiplay (UK) Limited.
The Grandstand,
Newbury Racecourse,
Newbury.
Berkshire.
RG14 7NZ
Couriering your PC will then leave you free to take a train, bus or even fly up to the event.
The company we have used in the past for couriering is Amtrak - check out their website for more information.
If you do decide to use the courier option, please let us know so that we are aware of how many PCs to expect to arrive.
